Start with anything from ZZTop and Rush (yea, I'm an old guy ;-) )
Lighten things up with some Chicago and the Doobie Brothers and just to be well rounded something from Lester and Earl (Flatt and Scruggs that is ).

Depends on your mood, I suppose... there's a collection of 'carlos CD's' that are to be released upon completion of the buggy build... It is a group of CD's, of what I listened to while building the project..

There's a body CD, wiring CD, suspension CD, etc. etc.

P.S. What's a doobie brother? (KIDDING!)

Beach Boys, Beatles, Jan and Dean. Need to stay with the 60's era. After all that was when the Manx deputed. Of course I like 70's Rock & Roll. Boston, Journey,Foriegner,Kansas,Chicago, Steve Miller Band and by all means The Eagles. David

Greg, Some of these guys don't know who Creedence (CCR) is. If y'all have to know, I was born in 1958. The best music I listened to came out of an 8-Track tape player crusing in my 1968 Mecury Montego Convertible. 390ci, Holley 4-barrel. Boy, those were the days. David

I've noticed, all the music suggested sounds great with a couple of speakers, all older rock and pop aren't very 'bass heavy', when compared to more recent R&B and Rap... of course, for the 'bass heavy' folks, a big amp,and subwoofer with a box is a LOT of space for a buggy!!!

Any of the last few Mark Knopfler (former Dire Straits) albums are great.... for driving or otherwise.

WOW ! Thanks for the Help
I Love the responses and I have most of these bands listed. I my self listen to all kinds of music. I have a music library of about 164,000 songs including Blues, Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative, Country, Bluegrass, Christan, Rap, Pop, Jazz, all from the 40's to present and yes even POLKA. I really appreciate all music from BB King to Metallica. I would like to compile a wide range of songs from everyone in the Club. I attempting to make a "Our Tunes" Texas Manx Club Cruising CD.

Please name a song and band since the bands you have listed have so many good songs.
Thank You

Funny you should mention that. On Feb. 27th, at 11:00 pm, I shook his hand. Yup, the King of Blues, B.B. King. What a show. That man of 80 yrs. has a performance and stage presence than 95% of the others I've seen and met.

Oh, if you have the chance, go see his show. If you think you have the luck to meet him, watch out for his 7'-6" bodyguards!

Any METALHEADS on the forum? Can't forget the 80's!!

As far as amp and sub woofers taking up a lot of space, it depends on where you choose to mount them. I have a sub woofer mounted under the dash in a box, and my amp under the seat. You can not see any of them nor do they take up anymore room than I already had. I have 2 6x9's mounted in the sides up front, and 2 5 1/4" speakers behind the driver and passenger seats. The only problem I have found is that anyone with long legs in the back have got no place to put their feet.

And yes, you can hear the radio driving down the road at 70 miles an hour.

Hm...I think they take up a lot of space, no matter where you mount them..a decent box needs to be a cubic foot, at LEAST! The amp? Another big chunk of metal....

I was thinking the same thing as you, though! I have a rear mounted gas tank, (no back seat), so I was wondering about using the front area to house electronics, rear for speakers... neat! ;-)
