Street legal is a fairly simple thing to do. You must have lights, turn sigsnals, brake lights, tailights, and lighted rear licence plate light. Sincce I have always started with a sedan VW, and its for me, I just get p lates and title BEFORE I start.
Remember this is in Texasm they don't have you drive your car in to get a title or plates.
The inspection is the better part to do..........Nothing makes it harder than to have things that don't work on your buggy. If you have a windshield, you must have wipers.
Since I only start with 67 and earlier, I like the swing axles better.........there is no smog check, but be sure to have an air cleaner onl your carb. Make sure the brakes and emergency brakes works good and you should have no problem.
I have a place around the corner from me who never makes even get out since he knows everything on my buggies works before I get in there. The only complaint they ever had with me was they thought my headlights on the F! I had were to low to the ground...........there is a certain height they have to be but I can not remember it right off.
Don't take a piece of a buggy in and exspect to get it done, that don't work.
I have a local agent who has never given me any trouble about insurence but you do have to have that before you go in.
