The people/person (not the guy I got it from) who built it obviously had little to no knowledge of VW motors as a lot of silicone was used to seal the motor. After a week of driving it around while chasing some electrical gremlins, the motor seized due to oil starvation from a plugged with silicone oil passage. Not really a big deal as part of the trade was a garage full of parts, including a few cases, transmissions, and a bunch of engine parts. Goal right now is to have it back together in the next few weeks.
While the engine has been out, I have been working on cleaning up/repairing the wiring. The builder used the original wiring from the donor and instead of shortening it, just had it wrapped around the engine. Plus the interior has been sprayed with LINE-X, including the wiring under the dash, which has made it a chore. But everything works now except for the wipers which I'm not worried about. New wiring harness will be a future project for sure.
