Miata Seat Rail Suggestions

Postby Dave W » 06 Wed Nov, 2013 12:16 am

I know some of you out there have installed Mazda Miata seats in your buggies. I recently purchased a set of Miata seats to replace the plastic ones currently in our buggy and am looking for input on what type of seat rails you used as well as tips on installation. The seats I purchased did not come with the stock rails.

Thanks for your help!

No rails just bolt them to the floor.
Plus they will lower in the body behind the windsheld.
I did a lot of work to make rails to fit my buggy
and slid them back and never moved them again.

I agree with Bryan. My seats are bolted down.
Once you find a comfortable seat postion you will probably never move it again.

I have the Miata rails and they are bolted to the Berrien frame. They work great. It is especially helpfull when there is more than one person that drives it. My son slides the seat all the way back to get in where I move it forward. There should be a Miata at the pick a parts or on egay for the slides.

That's another reason to bolt them down to keep the kids out of your buggy,

True that. However my son was a big part of the build so he is welcome to drive it. :D

Dave,
I put Miata seats in my buggy, I love them. They came with slider rails and I just bolted them to the floor, after setting the back feet on 1.5" blocks to level out the seat a little more.
You are welcome to come and take a look, I'm in Buda.
