Baja Project

Postby Heathwerner » 13 Thu Dec, 2018 11:48 pm

Here is the Baja I have been working on for several months now. I got a really good deal on it when I bought it so I decided to rebuild it and will sell it when I am done. I just enjoy the build!

What's the matter Heath, you Shannon couldn't agree on an engine color or maybe you just like to make sure you are looking good while you're working on the Baja engine. LOL, just kidding. This looks awesome.

Finally getting the interior installed. The green on the car and interior is actually more of a lime color than what shows up in the pics. Everybody has come up with names for it like, El Grincho, The Grinch. Snot Rocket, Kermit and my original name, Lime Disease.Gonna keep picking at it to get it finished. May try and start the engine today.

Its a stock dual port 1600 with go fast chrome. I did put electronic ignition on it. Not sure what the seats are. My upholstery guy said they looked like Ricaro seats. We decided to leave off the head rest when we had them recovered. Cranked it up for the first time yesterday and it runs great. Skittle, thats a new one.

Took the Baja out for maiden voyage today. Everything went well. The only issue was the belt started coming apart on the edges. Not sure why but will investigate. Just a few more loose ends to finish up this project.

Thank you John. That is the best part of the builds, when you put all that hard work into a project and people enjoy the results.
Glad you got your Buggy ironed out and back on the road.

Well the day after getting home from the Round Up I had a guy stop by that saw the Baja in the garage and made me an offer on it. We came to an agreement and I sold it to him. It was a rewarding project and hopefully it will be enjoyed by someone else now. HMMMMM what next!?

Congratulations Heath! Looking at your pics, I had no doubt you would find a buyer quick. BTW, Shannon gave me the camero and not sold, but GAVE it to me. I said "no way", because her deal required you were in it and she stopped negotiating at free. If she'd thrown in five more bucks, that car would have been mine.

YIKES!!!! The MONSTER raises its head! Isn't this step one of the monster motor buggy build? Good thing I didn't take Shannon's offer.

JK Heath, congratulations on the quick sale.
