hey guys i am getting closer finally one step at a time i had a new glass cut to replace the broken one in my frame and it seems smaller height wise from the old one. could you guys provide me with some measurements so i can take it back and have them cut it right. also does anyone know where i could get or what i could use as the new gasket under the glass to seal to hood? it will still work as cut but it looks like it is just wrong. thanks

Does your frame have the metal crossbar under the glass? As far as sealing, Berrien sells a rubber moulding:

Dino at Bug Shields probably makes the windshields for Berrien, and I know he can fix you up with the gasket you need.

He's the guy that donated a windshield for the Roundup Poker Run last year.

He is one of our sponsors, and a nice guy, so check him out on the Sponsor tab.

no it does not have a metal bar along bottom just a tore up rubber seal. i know it is just flat plate glass they cut from stock. thats why i was looking for dimensions, so i can get it re-cut. working for dealerships for 17 years i dont trust glass being shipped so if i can get them to re-cut i would prefer that but i will contact him on the seal, thanks guys

Can you post a pic???

If you don't have the plate at the bottom, you might be missing a part.

I don't thing I have seen a frame without the bottom plate.

I'm afraid dimensions of other people winshields wouldn't do you much good as they are built to order. With all the buggy body makers out there, there is no standard size.

I think a true manx is 42 1/2 inches wide. Mine was 42 1/4 inches wide. Then you can select the height you want.

I think I've seen 18 inches, 16 inches 14 inches high.

I used a true manx windsheild and put shims under it to bring it to the correct width.

well the width isnt a problem , it fits perfectly, it just looked shorter than it did before so thats why i was looking for height so i would know for sure it was wrong but if i need a metal strip at the bottom, then it wont make any diff anyways. i was going to go to our local ditributor and get a channel seal that should work but since i have no metal ....

If your frame does not have a bottom rail you could just lower your windshield frame so the glass sits on fiberglass. You would have to trim the bottoms of the side rails and redrill holes.

ya see thats what i was wondering about since my hood has a lip, the glass kinda sits up against to help line it up. i think maybe thats why there is no metal strip perhaps? cause it has a rubber seal along bottom of glass they jut transfere when they cut my new glass, thanks for all the help. it being low wouldnt be terrible but bein right at 6'and then in the seats almost puts my head too hi and i have been hit in the head by a bug before no fun at all

pictures would be a very big help. We all have a picture in our minds of what you're describing, but I'm not sure it's what you actually have.
