SO PUMPED, I am on the prowl for a running street legal Buggy, and now have cash in fist. I am looking to spend no more the $5000.00 preferably less if possible. I just got back from a Air Brush class so it does not have to be pretty at this point. No matter what it will get a custom paint job over the summer no matter what. I am pumped that I am finally at a point where I can afford to purchase a "running Street Legal" Dune Buggy.

I know a bunch of you will be at the show this weekend, and i am sure someone will have a Dune Buggy for sale. Or if you know of someone who is looking to thin their auto herd, please let me know. I have been wishing, hoping, & Waiting for many years. I have been looking at eBay, the Samba, here, and once and a while on Craigs list. If you have any other ideas please let me know.

Brian in Salado TX has a nice one for sale. Its on the Samba. JUST pull the trigger and buy one. They are on the net all day long. You will never find one that has everything you want and at the price you want. So my take on it is pick one that meets most of your needs and buy the itchy thing.

I have seen that buggy, but I think I am going to hold out for something else. I have my eye on a few at the moment. Now that I have a Dune Buggy fund, I have a little patience. Plus I a couple other thing I need to finish around the house before I can take on a Dune Buggy project according to my wife. I am okay with that as long as the cash for the Dune Buggy does not go away..... How does the saying go, Patience is a virtue?

With $5000 you can buy one ready to roll. No project to worry about. You said you are really in the market and now you arent?????????? I dont know Good luck.

I never said that I was not in the market, I am just going to hold out for what I want, I also said that I had my eye on a couple as well. I am in the market, I just have a couple of things that are taking priority at the moment. I will still be looking but not with the kind of emphasis I thought.

What have you been up to?
Do you still have your MINI?
Are you still in the Air Force?
How is you son, and does he still have that truck you bought him?

If you're coming to Boerne this weekend, you'd better bring your checkbook. Priorities or not, you are going to fall in love with a buggy and if you don't buy it you'll be kicking your posterior for not doing so.

I would have loved to make the trip to the Boerne this weekend, but unfortunately I will not be able to make it. We lost my wife's grandmother and will be attending a funeral today. (She was 83 and lived a wonderful life, and everyone loved her. It is a bummer to loose her but she is in a much better place then us.) It would have been great as I could have seem my Mom and Dad out at Canyon Lake as well.
As I said before I am in the market for Dune Buggy. So if you find one that is for sale this weekend, please take a photo or two and send them my way with the Buggy Owners contact information. Perhaps I will find myself a Buggy that way.

Yep. Its a keeper. Dylan is good people too. Send him a note on the DLK site and tell him BrianB from Katy sent you. But please only contact him if you are serious. The car is not a show car, its not a race car, it is just a nice solid driver car that you will tinker with. Perfect cars are $16000,00 and are located in Boerne. :mrgreen:

I just started talking to a guy about a KILLER Looking Dune Buggy with a 1835 motor. He is suppose to send me photos this evening. It is a little over my budget but...... we will see what happens.

Ugghhh Why is it so hard getting people that are selling a Buggy to email photos! Perhaps I will get them today..... Hard to think about buying a dune buggy when all you have seen is 3 tiny little pics on craigslist, and cant just hop in the truck to go look at it because it is miles away. (About a 9 hour drive)

Yea, kinda strange. I wonder why they decided to use Dune Buggies, I have seen that same Dune Buggy all over the place. Thanks for the heads up, I will not hand over a dime until I have the keys and a title in sight.

BUMMER! I was this close to buying a Buggy today.

It was a Buggy in Houston, he had sent me a BUNCH of emails with photos as well as a couple videos. After talking with him on the phone for close to 45 minutes, I told him that I was 95% sure that I was going to buy the buggy. I just had to figure out how I was going to get it from Houston to Albuquerque. While I was trying to figure out how I was going to get it, he called and left me a voice mail. He sold it while I was talking to someone about transportation, must have been about an hour and a half. SO VERY BUMMED!

Ohh well it was not ment to be.

What have you been waiting on then? It should be in your garage by this weekend. You see what happens when you putter around right? A great deal like the one in Houston gets sold out from under you. Bring cash when you go to look at it and buy it right there 8-)

It seems like a lot of money for that Dune Buggy, it only has a 1600.
I know that I would have make a few changes if I bring it home.
I am not fond of the wheels on it, so I would like to put on a new set of Centerlines. (I have always like them.)
It would need a Rollcage, and not just some cheezy one. I am talking about one that would really help if needed.
This is something I would plan on doing to any buggy. It would get a fresh paintjob, my airbrushes will get a good workout on any Buggy I buy.

If they guy can meet me I am going to go look at it today.(and probaly buy it) I will let you know what happpens.

Brian, I am glad that you live really far away. I think you would come over and put knuclebumps on my head, as I didn't go look at that purple Buggy today. The cable guy didn't finish up until 5:00 and then I had to clean up his mess. Look it was in the living room that I turned into a Movie room. Totally remodeled it, and its AWESOME! So I cant let it go...

I have gone the route of trying to "Build a Buggy" twice and failed, so I am looking for a Buggy that is running. We will see what happens..... Really need to go look at that Purple Buggy!

Brian you know me well enough to know that I refuse to tell a lie. No it is not in my driveway, and I still have not found the time to go look at it either. I really want to go look at it, but time is just not on my side. When I do go look at it I will have to take pics of me with it to prove that I was really there. LOL

I went by and looked at it today and even made an offer. Well I made a offer on the Dune Buggy for me and then a 2001 Ford Taurus for my daughter. Will probaly pick them up tomorrow. I will let you know!

My buddy came over today to talk about a "plan of Attack". Speaking with all honesty, I am greatful that he is going to help me. I just dont dont know how to do a lot of this stuff and it will be nice to have a buddy to "Help".
