Buggy calendars

Postby BrianB » 30 Fri Sep, 2011 2:14 pm

Our friends at Dune Buggy Archives are putting together a calendar with buggy's as the picture content. If anyone is interested in getting one let me know and I'll post over there our quantity needed. Or just post up yourself on the DBA site. Here are two links to the discussions.

This is still happening just a little slowly. Would you all prefer me to take care of the transaction along with shipping the calendars or do you want to deal direct with Jay on DBA? Or you could bring the money to Mr Porters bash and pay in person :D

It is looking like $25. That is around the latest quote he posted. Twenty five dollars is a lot for a calendar but when was the last time you saw a calendar with just buggies in it  These will be great for the shop or home office or by the kitchen table if momma like buggies too

Ok I assumed you all would check out the links on the DBA to see what was being discussed as far as price and layout. Apparently $25 is too much to spend on a specialty item for some of you. Even though we spend hundreds of dollars on cruises and events throughout the year. To me its not just a calendar its a piece of DuneBuggy memorabilia. I personally think $25 is a relativly good price for a custom made calendar. Can you buy cheaper ones printed all day long in China Sure. There is no profit in this for Jay and he's taking his time to do it for the dune buggy community. So all that being said please let me know if you are now interested or not as I informed Jay we had a good response from the Texas gang and that we could need 10 or 15 calendars. Thanks again guys(&gals).

I think $25.00 is well worth the money. I am still in, when do we need to pony up?

OK guys someone else has picked up the torch and is making the calanders. Send your buggy pictures into him and get your buggy on the map. He said there would be no problem paying outside of EGay if you want. Below is the thread on DBA. Andy is the guy that is doing it as the original guy(Jay) is indisposed. Support the buggy world by buying one for your office. He has his email address posted so you could do this outside of DuneBuggyArchives if you dont want to register.

Nobody ever suggested that. Maybe someone with a few extra dollars in the bank could get this going. It is not too late. I dont think we have 12 people looking in regular though. It may take PM'ing a bunch of folks to get 12-13 good photos.

Apparently there are quite a few sites online that do this kind of thing. One person would collect 13-14 high resolution pictures and send them in. You then decide how you want it set up at a certain price break quantity. Place the order and in a week or two they are done. If you read the thread over on DBA there aare a couple of sites mentioned for doing this. I am not in a financial postion to lay out any up front costs or I would take the lead on this. I am on board for two calendars however.

Ok - I talked to my old secretary last night. She got out of the insurance business and does professional photography, and puts together posters for shows and that kind of thing now. She is up to the task, and then some.

We will need to get some ideas on what you guys want. One car per month, mutliple pics per month, (I'm thinking pics of the Christmas Parade for Example for December) Maybe a group photo for April (Fred), May (Blast), Sept(RoundUp) etc., you tell me what you want.

She is open to coming to Fred or Burnet to take photos also, if anyone wants a really good picture of their car.

I'm going to have her do mine when I get it back together, so y'all can see her work and make your own decisions.
