Linda's Surgeries

Postby Bill K » 13 Tue May, 2014 11:18 pm

As some of you know, and others may not, Linda was diagnosed with a carcinoma in the middle of her nose. It was large enough as to require reconstructive surgery. Today she had two surgeries: The first to remove the cancer which took a portion of her nose. The second was by a plastic surgeon to do a surgery called a Forehead Flap. This was the most difficult option available to her, but she chose it because it will yield the best results.

Monday she will have her stitches removed, and two weeks from today she will have a second reconstructive surgery entailing the cutting of the flap and beginning the reconstructive process. This may require as many as three additional surgeries, but they should not be as severe as the Doc called them "Fine Tuning".

Her spirits are great and the pain is minimal, so all is well.

My father-in-law had the same surgery and it was very successful.....he is 84 years old. Wishing you the best of luck with the procedure!

I here that aroma therapy is good for a speedy recovery too. A batch of Leenda cookies might not be a bad idea to kick things off?

Are you recommending that "Aroma Therapy" for the patient or for her friends? :D

Linda had her third surgery today and all went well. The flap of skin from her forehead to her nose graft was taken off and that was a huge improvement.

The stitches from todays surgery will come out next Tuesday and the Doc said we would then wait about 2 - 3 months for everything to heal and get settled. At that time it will be determined if she will need any additional surgeries for further shaping or contouring of her nose.

I truly appreciate everyone's concern and prayers and I can tell you for sure it has meant the world to Linda. God bless you all.

Just want to let you both know we are thinking of you both. Glad that the surgery went well.
The weekend was great, but would have been better if Linda could have joined us. Will be looking forward to hearing about her healing and hopefully she can join us on the next event. A big THANK you for the wonderful cookies. I heard about Linda's cookies, but this is the first time we ever had them. They were even better than imagined. Thank you again Linda for making them for us and thank you Bill for bringing them.
Take care, will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
