looks like a clean up job ahead of you. Are you going to have it bead blasted for the rust or use the elbow grease? When you get it cleaned up don't forget the POR15 or similar...great stuff

I see it at that stage and I think of the thousand things I wish I'd done to mine....but hey, they're never finished right?

I would have it blasted. It will come out so much nicer and dosent cost that much. I had a pan blasted and painted for $125.

Personally, I'd have it blasted too..If I put my paycheck into an hourly rate, the cost of a professional blast would totally justify the amount of labor.... My only advice is totally seal up those holes, or you're gonna have residue in there for years! Keep the pedals mounted, keep the shifter on, keep the shift coupler plate on, etc. etc... that'll help with all that sand (or blasting media) entering those crevasses..

nice catch!!!!!
I just did the ghia chassie last weekend. (oh what fun your in for) LOL
I took it down to just the rear trailing arms then sand blasted it
I thought about powder coating it, allong with all the hubs and attachments
pictured on the floor
but reconsidered due to allot of the rubbers still in the chassie.
pluss I left on the tar board.
I put on a coat of rustolium red primer
then covered rustolium satin black $14 bucks for two quarts @ wall mart
a few runs in the primer (first time I painted with a spray gun)
otherwise Im happy
the sand blew out of the tunnel just fine with a strong blower
