Just wanted to say HI

Postby Rustybuggy » 27 Thu Dec, 2007 12:02 pm

HIya all my name Is Rusty and I have recently acquired a Old beat down buggy from my cousin .... It Is In bad shape but Its all mine  It was running when my cousin bought It but he Is a 16 year old kid and was not Interested In fixing anything that did not stop It from running. I know I have a lot of work ahead of me and not a lot of money but my goal Is to have her going by Jan of 2009.

On the top of my project list Is to get the motor running again

1. he removed the breather for reasons unknown and cant seem to remember where It went to so the carb has been sitting open for 2 years or so.
2. the 2 rear push rod tubes are bent closed and will need to be replaced along with the push rods which I am sure are bent
3. shifter Is missing but I have the bent shifter rod :?:
4. wiring Is such a mess that It all needs to be removed and redone ( I think I have It figured out … what It needs just to make It run the rest will be gutted)

I think that will get me started then I can put floor pan back In It

Welcome, Rusty. Glad to have you with us.
There are several of us here in the Greater Houston Area, so let us know how we can help.
Building a Buggy certainly has its moments of discouragement, but you can take it from me (and I'm sure a lot of others) that when you are cruising with your buggy friends, and are acknowledging all the waves and smiles along the way, you'll know for sure that it was well worth the effort.
