Postby 2165 Turbo Rail » 22 Sun Jun, 2008 1:02 am

Hey everyone this is Chris (I had the Blue Turbo sand rail)

a lot of you knew Kevin Calder (green Manx) and some of you knew that he was sick (Lou Gehrig's) Unfortunately Kevin passed away Friday 6/20/08 at about 5:15pm

Stephanie wanted me to contact ya'll in case you wanted to come to the funeral.

The viewing will be Monday between 6pm - 8pm
the funeral will be Tuesday at 2pm

both will be at
Emerald Hills Funeral Home
- www.emeraldhillsfuneralhome.com
500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale - (817) 572-1681

Stephanie would really like it if you guys that were around while Kevin was building the buggy (and when we did the Arkansas ride) would attend the funeral.

Chris,

So sorry to hear about Kevin. I know a lot of us wondered and were concerened about him when we stopped seeing and hearing from him on the boards. Please give our condolences to Stephanie.
What a loss, Kevin was one of the good guys.

Thanks guys. I knew that you two would definitely remember him. I'm not sure if he ever told any one in the buggy world.. Kevin was one of those guys that didn't want people to feel sorry for him.. and if you know anything about Lou Gehrig's disease, you would have felt terrible for him and treated him different. The typical life expectancy is 3-5 years. He made it about 5 and a half.

Chris,
Thanks for letting us know. I was always asking Greg or Neil Decker if they had heard from Kevin. He just seemed to disappear. Now I know why. I wish we would have known, but I understand why Kevin wanted his privacy. I thought about Kevin and Stephanie just yesterday as I was driving through Kennedale. I would like to try to make it Tuesday. I'm currently in west Texas and don't know if I can. I will see what I can do.

We will truly miss Kevin. We enjoyed hanging with y'all in Arkansas and with Kevin and Stephanie at the Lockheed Martin show. Like Greg says, He was one of the good guys. He was always the jokester and knew how to get a laugh out of someone.

Tell Stephanie that our prayers are with her and the Calder family.

Ii alwaya enjoyed Kevin, his wife and their little one. I remember our trip to Ennis years ago as a club.

I have wondered many times why I never heard about Kevin, now I know and it saddens me more than you will ever know.

May my memories keep Kevin in my heart forever.
