How about a new trip plan for this wonderful weather

Postby Buggy1 » 04 Wed Jul, 2007 9:42 am

I am planning on taking out the buggy today July 4th and have a really great Idea! I went down and bought 4 inner tubes for large trucks and two 15" tubes extra.

Placing the large truck tires under the wheel and tieing them on I now can have a river trip down my street! The extra tubes? got them to hold the coolers as we float down the city streets! Who says we need to go to the beach, we got a river right out the front door.

I tried to bring back the dry weather from Imperial Dunes but we ran into a storm in the Sierra Blancas and that was the end of the 115 degrees and no humidity.

Anyway if you have never seen the California desert especially Glamis in the Imperial Dunes recreation area you owe it to yourself to go there at least once during your life. You will truly understand why dune buggies were conceived and why we should truly thank Bruce Meyers and his Manx.

Sorry,

I don't think we have any picks, I could not find my sons digital camera that I used at buggy blast before I left ( you know how teenagers are) so I will have to see if the pictures my daughter took along the way with her 35mm come out as it was acting up as well.

All I can tell you is that there are miles and miles of sand dunes out there.
We took the scenic drive out of San Marcos (MGM's location) and then cut back over to highway 8 just before reaching Glamis and I don't think I have ever seen that much sand before. I tried to get my brother to go a little further but next cut over would have been dirt road for about 20 miles and he didn't want to drag the trailer.

But I will definitely put a Glamis trip into my future.
