I agree in principle, but what are they going to do with a bunch of buggy shirts?

I know from past experience with my wife's organization, she got stuff donated to her that she could never figure out what to do with.

You have a good point, Cory.
Greg, I'm sure you would check that out, and if they can't be used well at the hospital, then maybe they could be to brought to the Roundup, and we give one to each entrant. I'm sure Blast attendees wouldn't mind having another shirt, and non-Blast attendees would love to have one. Maybe we would just ask for a voluntary donation for a shirt at the Roundup, and give the money to the Hospital. Just an idea.

I believe it was suggested that the shirts were donated to the K I D S to have not the hospital .We should all know if we couldn't sell them then don't think the hospital would be able to sell them. But for some crazy reason I bet them little kids might get more than $ 5.00 dollars worth of enjoyment out of them. So lets do it for the kids! If anyone wanted one or two they should have bought one. IT IS ABOUT THE KIDS not what we may get for free !!!

I didn't mean it to sound like a bad  It is just the shirts have been taking up Gregs garage space plus I bet to say Greg and Susan are probably tired of moving them around and trying to sell them . The kids don't get to see the financials to see what we do for them at the time we donate. But if they were to get a t-shirt we could put a smile on a little ones face wouldn't that put a smile on everyones face in the TEXAS MANX CLUB . Isn't this what we are about :?:

I think it's great that our club has a worthy charity to support. Something to put things in perspective when you're buggying isn't going as well as you would like. I was wondering if there is a story behind our choice of the Scottish Rite Hospital.

As far as the shirts. I will check with my contact at the hospital when I get ready to make the donation. As the kids are wards of the hospital while they are patients there; it is the hospitals responsibility to make the decision. I like the idea and will certainly offer the reamaining 2007 shirts.

As far as how we landed on TSRH. I was a patient there in the hospital for @2 months and then outpatient for 3 years in the late 60's. If you haven't noticed, I have a pretty good case of scoliosis, crooked spine. The Masonic organizations (primarily Scottish Rite) that support the hospital are dear to me as well. My father, his father and I are all 32 degree Scottish Rite Masons. I know first hand the wonderfull work they do. No patient ever gets a bill. Period.
Lastly, since we are a non profit enthusiats club, we must make a donation to a bona fide non profit entity in order to keep our status.

Hope that answers some questions.

It's the "no-cost" thing that makes this an especially gratifying cause to support.
I'm like everyone else, I'm very proud that our Club supports this kind of work for kids and their families.

I think it is great as well, we took our oldest son there to have him evaluated as his handwriting skills were so bad, we were concerned he was dislexic, he isn't but we got reams of good information on him, including an IQ test which got him into the TAG program. 8-)

My wife was very happy to sign off on my entering a ghost buggy in the show as it was for the Scottish Rite.
