Bug Swarm

Postby yoboy » 29 Mon Sep, 2008 7:59 pm

We attended the Bug Swarm yesterday in Arlington, Texas along with Mello Yello. We had a great time visiting during the show. We also were able to meet Gina from Springtown who has been posting on the site. It was great to meet another new member and hear about their buggy.

Billy,
any pictures of the show? I was wondering how they would lay things out around Black Gold (it's a strip center right?)

Greg -

I've seen pictures on the air coolers site and also on the volksrodders site. Only saw a couple of buggies, one appeared to have been a Tow'd.

Greg,

Here's a few pictures which we took at the show. You are correct, it was a strip shopping center. They lined the cars up in front and had swap meet around back and a few on the side.

Freebird Van!

Postby Faron » 30 Tue Sep, 2008 11:14 pm

While looking through the photos that yoboy posted I noticed a great VW Van. It is basically a advertisement for Freebirds in College Station. I sent the photo over to the owner of the dealership that I work at. The guy owns two BMW Car Dealerships, two BMW Motorcycle Dealerships, and also owns the MINI Dealership that I work in. But his personal collection of cars is full of VW Vans. NICE NICE VW VANS. Sorry to ramble on like this, I just think that it is cool that a guy who can afford to buy just about any classic car chooses to buy old VW Vans! Color me Nutty!

He is a far cry from the people who own the MINI Dealership we worked at in San Antonio huh Ryan!!!
Get out there and enjoy your Dune Buggy! www.savethetexasdunebuggy.com faron@savethetexasdunebuggy.com
