Postby 1redbuggy » 03 Mon Aug, 2009 12:17 am

Hello everyone! Its been a while since I posted. Here are a few pics of my buggy. I hope to have it ready for Boerne! I'm trying to figure out what to use for my switches (light, wipers, emergency). Any suggestions???? Congratulations to Bill & Ray! Image

Looks good, hope to see you in Boerne.
As far as your switches, just depends on what look you want. There are l a lot of choices out there.

Thanks. I want pull type switches similar to a vw. Stock vw switches won't work. I don't want toggle switches. I have started the wiring and I have all my gauges mounted in the dash. Those seats are not mounted yet although I may have to mount them for Boerne. I want nice padded seats. I am going to have all the interior done up very nice by a professional. Where can I get side pods. Eventually I want to lower it some with narrow tires up front and wide tires in back.

GM makes a headlight switch that works great. It's a push/pull switch. Go to the Ron Frances Wiring website. Order a free catalog and you'll see all types of switches and knobs, along with countless wiring goodies. Look me up at the Roundup. We'll talk about Abilene, I'm there a lot. :) :)

I am so glad to hear you will most likely be joining us for the Roundup in Boerne. I know we will all enjoy getting to see your new car.

I used universal headlight switches (available at any auto parts store for about $5) and screwed on VW knobs. They are 3 position for high/low beams or two speed wipers. They also have a built-in fuse.

Great looking buggy. Plan on a Saturday morning parade down Boerne's Main Street. BillK has already entered us, all we have to do is show up on the north end of town around 9:30. Isn't that right Bill? :)
