Side Pods

Postby 1redbuggy » 09 Sun Aug, 2009 10:20 pm

Where can I get a set of side pods? Are there different side pods for different styles of fiberglass buggies? Or does a set of side pods fit any buggy?

Take a look at our "Club Sponsors" at the home page of the forum and go to Texas Buggies. Bobby can fix you up with a set. Just tell him what you have in the way of a body. He's a great guy and will help you all he can. :)

It will require some fitting including some fiberglas work.

Wish I was far enough along to show it all painted and shiny like Corys, but this is where I am at this moment. I am finishing up the drivers side this week.

It makes one look like a totally different buggy. When I pull the body off the pan, I will do a little more glass work on the bottom but the parts you can see are just about finished and ready to prime, block and paint. The pods are not thin at all. I am very pleased with them.

I got mine from Rick Leddon. My body was different enough from a Manx that it required significant alterations. But beings I planned to mold the in anyway it didn't present any problems

I also got mine from Rick, had to do a lot of cutting and molding to get them to fit nicely. almost through with it. Gonna try to get it ready to take to Boerne. About an 8hr tow from here back home to SA.

Those wheels make it really POP! Are those Drag Star or Weld Wheels?
Looks really great, but do you still have to wire it? :)

almost finished. Just have to wire the dash in. Waiting to get my gas tank back, had to do some welding on it. Then I cane put my hood on, headlights and windshield and buff out the paint. The wheels are from Jegs.

Your body has a low slung side line. My pods can be cut and molded to fit. Carlton Dollerys body is close to yours and his turned out great. Attached is a link to a picture of Carltons buggy with my pods molded in.

The others, yes mine should fit no problem and yep, they look really nice molded in!

I failed to mention in my post that my pods came from Texasbuggys. They are a good solid piece and as you can see from the pics, fit the contours nicely.

Texas Buggy pods molded in

The Spatz had a wider rear fender so bolting them on was not an option for me.
