Citizen Band Radio

Postby Jack Duncan » 14 Tue Sep, 2010 1:35 pm

I am going to get the ball rolling and install a CB in my buggy. I just think it would be a lot more fun if we could communicate while cruising. Also, we wouldn't have to wonder why we are turning around and heading the other direction on a cruise. (Luchenbach and Center Point Rd.) If anyone had trouble, we would all know it. It just makes sense to me. What is the general opinion? :!: :?:

I have thought about it also. We used to use the small hand held family channel radios when Jeeping, they worked pretty good.

They can be wired through external speakers or through radio speakers. I too have loud mufflers and can hear my speakers if I turn up the volume. I had the same problem in my last car but I was still able to hear. :?:

This is the route we have used in the past on many runs with my Trans Am Club.... and its easy to hand off an extra radio to a newcomer to the group to keep them included in the chatter.

i have one installed in my two seater manx clone , and have another to put into my new buggy.
i belong to a group of five motorcycle riders , we all have bike to bike comm systems. i consider the radios as important as a first aid emergency kit. i agree with you. besides, the long whip aerial looks really cool .
