The most ?????? thing you have ever someone else do?

This is just for fun...In being around the VW/Buggy scene for 40 yrs, you see a lot of stuff and want badly to say "Here's your sign".
Like the following:
1. The guy who told me that I sold him the wrong carburator kit, because the fan shroud wouldn't fit.....and when I went to see what the problem was, he had put the center section on backwards so the carb was facing towards the front.
2. The kid who "knew everything" about how to install a long block, and put the bottom air tin on the motor, with the bottoms of them facing the front of the car! (Ram cooling, I guess!)
3. The individual who complained that his engine was running hot, it was new, and the inspection found that he had put the bottom cylinder air deflectors on the TOP of the cylinders!
4. The fellow who put the brake lines on his rail, and used splice fittings, because he didn't think that the steel would mind moving up and down with the suspension-----oh that's what those rubber lines are for!
Can any of you top these?
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!

I for one had the left and right upper tin switched. I made this mistake eventhough the cylinder numbers were marked clearly on the tin. What a dunce. LOL David

My windsheild frame is on backwards....guess that means I'll only catch bugs in reverse. :D

The idea of this one is not to tell on ourselves, but others! We don't make mistakes, do we?
REMEMBER, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.......WE ARE PROFESSIONALS!!
I know that I've had some dumb accidents at times, and ya'll are right, we learn from those. BUT WE ARE NOW PROFESSIONALS, aren't we?

Wait a minute! UGHH! I'm not a professional! Oh no! I've been working under a terrible misconception! LOL!

The very first VW I worked on was in 1990, my brother's 1970 type 1...

he was rebuilding an engine and asked:

"Hey, put those bolts on the oil pump cover, will you?"

"Sure, no problem" (Tighten 1, tighten 2, tighten3, tighten 4, all done)

"Hey, put the oil sensor on, will ya?"

"Sure, no problem" (tighten..and tighten..and SNAP!) "UH OH..what happened?"

I friggen snapped it, I thought it was as strong as a normal bolt....

Oh well, we uses a doghouse oil cooler with the sensor that's there...
you must have pride....in your ride....

the best one I got
was the guy I bought my buggy from
he realy sold me a HOT ROD not a dune buggy
man he was the king of hot rods did all the crappy interior himself
bondoed over fiberglass, metal and caulk yes caulk
not to mention the chassie was a total loss cause
that was covered by a mettal floor pan. he told me all about the detail that went into the car.
what a pile of junk the only thing salvageable was the body and break pedals

now I have a hot rod!

one guy at the shop I bought it from still cant believe its the same car
if it aint broke, break it then fix it
