man I wish we had a ride like that around here
I realy love the out doors
the shot from atop the hill down into the badlands is awsome
makes me want to build an off road car just in case

we are creatures that build to suite our environment
hence the street car for me
thanks for thining of us

Dang, I really would enjoy a trip like that. One of these days, I'll hook up the RV and Buggy and take off. David

I just checked on mapquest. From my house it is 1369.17 miles to Borrego Springs. Thats a pretty nice hall for a weekend. Really, If I live long enough to enjoy the GOLDEN years. (After the kids get out of college) I would Love to go West. Until than, I can only dream. David

Question :?: So, out of the ENTIRE great State of Texas, there are NO off-road trails? Seems as if all the buggies there are street buggies, not that it's a problem. Just seems to me with all that wide open space, there should be something for you off-road too. Just curious. :?:

I think the issue may be more of getting to them. Some of the guys in East Texas run river beds, other's just try to find a field. Seems like we don't have as much public use land or National Park as other states. Big Bend is quite a ways for a weekend jaunt and buggies got chased off the beaches of the gulf coast years ago (they'll impound your buggy nowadays). So I think a lot of us kind of gave up  and built what we knew we could run without taking a vacation any time we wanted to buggy. Somebody once said that it's farther from Texarkana to El Paso than it is from El Paso to the Pacific or Texarkana to the Atlantic. It's just kind of tough to fnd any organized off road stuff like you can find in California and even Colorado.....we try....

we have a real hot bed of activity just 3 miles from my house
the spring creek area is a huge attraction on weekends with the four wheel crowed. when I had the rail we used to go down there alot of fun
but it was allot of work as well
the river bed is sand and has quite a few river crossings wich are hard on all the sealed areas of a buggy ride, break, fix, not to mention the hours of clean up after the ride
too me it was just a better time (or as we like to call it fun factor)
to build a street car less hassel all around
if it aint broke, break it then fix it
