Hello
I live in France and I've baught a Manx Buggy which come from Grand Saline Texas USA.
This Buggy was the Jimmy Clyde Davis 's Buggy.
He was a member of this forum.
I'm looking for informations (pics , family ...) of the Buggy and Jimmy.

Some news of the ToyBug

The engine had leaks and need a restoration

Disassembling of the engine: what a pleasure on a buggy!!

I benefit from it to put a small coat of paint at the back frame

Hi Villmei, first I gotta say thank you for sharing and all of these pictures are great. It looks like you are already enjoying the Toy Bug. I can't help but think you have an interest in aircooled cars. It's really great. I can't wait to see it on the road.

Are there dune buggy clubs like us in France or your region that you belong to?

Nice engine restoration. I find that when you can polish the heads and pistons, you get better results. Hope you still have some form of premium fuel available. I have learned that every little bit helps for engines designed for 60's and 70's fuel. Well done!

Here the continuation about which I spoke to you yesterday.

The engine found its place with a new exhaust.
There remain some completions wiring and connection of the pressure gauges.

Rubber is not a good idea. the number plate touches the alternator.

Wow! You sir, are doing a fine job on that buggy and Jimmy would be DANG PROUD of the TLC his car is getting!

Welcome to the club and thank you for letting us know about that buggy and what you are doing with it. Can't wait to see the finished product. Say, isn't that the engine that had the distributor wires running through the fan shroud. I marveled over that idea! Great job with all the photos!

When I saw the Buggy on Internet it interested me.
The look all I liked the color.

I thus learned that it came from Texas of the town of Grand Saline and that it belonged to Jimmy Clyde Davis carpenter with the retirement.

Jimmy and is his wife Donna had 2 Manx Buggies

Their Buggies won prices at the time of gatherings in Texas
Unfortunately Jimmy fell seriously sick and he died on September 8th, 2015.

I thus decided to tribute Jimmy by creating goodies which would be installed on the hardtop.

I called on Rascalscats and after many exchanges by e-mails, of sketch, prototypes one arrived from there so that you will discover.

After a few months here the result.

What a great gesture.

The picture of Jimmy's car must have been taken at the VW Classic. I see my yellow car and Chris Wagner's green car in the background. I can also see Billy standing in the background.

The picture of Dona's car with Jimmy by it was at the first Buggy Roundup which would have been in '07.
