Manx Club Buggy of the month

Postby David Head » 21 Thu Sep, 2006 4:18 pm

Anybody seen this months "Buggy of the month"????
The competition is very stiff. We have three members from the Big State of Texas competing. Check it out.

I'm glad the Maroon Manx is not in the running this month.

I put my vote in, I am sure my Buddy knows that I voted for him.

I really like number 5! I love the off-road look!

eh, sorry to be a burden on this, but when it comes to BOTM, no matter who's is better, the first question asked is usually "which one is an authentic MANX?" even if in a box, unassembled, that one wins.. :?

But Daayyum, this month DOES have some nice ones..

this one does it for me, though.. just the pic! Nice lines, no NEED for a cage with this one.. yummy!! My black buggy wanted to know this buggy's phone number for a date! hahaah

Thanks so much for the compliment, Carlos. I really appreciate that a lot.
By the way "Quatro" is definintely interested in setting up a date, but only if it can lead to a lasting relationship. No "one night stands here".

Hate to be too picky but I had to check. Went back and looked at the BOM archives from Jan 2005 to present and of the 17 BOM's 9 were not a Meyer's product. So even if unassembled it seems that a Manx is not a shoe in. The members of the national Manx Club vote for the BOM and many of those members do not have an "authentic MANX" ;-)
We have Bill's, Russell's and Tom's buggy from our club and any of them are extremely worthy to be BOM.

Lets be honest! A cool Buggy is a Cool buggy! If you are only willing to vote for a Buggy because its a "MANX", You are crazy! COOL is COOL! If that is how you vote, I want to see your Manx with designer leather wrapped seats!!! HaHaHa

I seem to remember viewing the BOTM since it started, and if there was a MANX in the group, it won.. I think it was also when Bruce made the decision, and he posted a few lines as to why... wow, time flies...

One last qoute, then I'm out of this for good.
Found one from June of 2002 and while yes, a Manx won, here's what Bruce had to say about it.
June '02 Buggy of The Month entry #5: Henry Heise WINNER!
"It's always tough to make a decision about these buggies, especially when I read between the lines about the love and the cherished results of these very personal cars. It's even harder for me when my first choice happens to be an authentic Meyers Manx - which, no doubt will be misconstrued. My choice is based on a clean looking car, very simple, very restrained in the way its owner completed the job without excess garbage. - Bruce"

So I guess you can't please everyone and some you'll never please. By the way, here's the link http://www.manxclub.com/botm/june2002_5.html

Remember he doesn't pick them now. It's up to Club Members like us that choose which buggies we like best. He got out picking which buggies are the winners. Whoever has the most votes at the end of the month wins.

Thank you everyone for the contratulations. There was some pretty stiff competition. I'm just proud to join the ranks of other Texas Manx Club winners of the award. There are some really top-of-the-line buggies in our club, so I hope to see more of our cars in the competition.

Good for you Bill! You had my vote for sure. I now know it was worth the money to join the club, if this is the only thing that I get out of it. I got to vote for the best buggy of the September competition! I am proud for you Bill! You Buggy is very nice!
