Older trans to newer motor.

I am considering buying a used dual port motor and I was wondering if there is anything I need to know about matching it up to an old crashbox swingaxle (1954#A2844440) Mostly I am concerned about input shaft issues, Thanks y'all. You can be sure this is the first of many pesky questions I'll be asking during this project, Fred

the crash boxes are not real strong, swap it out to someone wanting to restore and older Bug. Just my opinion.

I agree with bobby, the bell housing has to be clearenced, the transmission is not strong enough, and the gearing is too low to make the car anything but slow.
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the information. So lets see,if I buy the engine all i have left is a transmission, a few wires, some brakes, a little paint and time. That should'nt cost to much- I'm excited! Fred.
