Tranny swap

Postby Fred » 24 Tue Mar, 2009 9:14 pm

Per advice received on a previous post I am removing the split case trans and putting a 66ish swing axle in its place. What I need to know is (1) should I save any split case stuff, clutch cable guide, nose cone etc. (2) I hear there is a front mount adaptor plate that I need to put the newer trans in the old '54 chassis. Does any body know what I'm talking about (I dont!). I'm going to Ennis Sun to dig for parts at the swap meet so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Fred PS. the build is going well and Im having a great time!!!

There is an adapter nose cone mount that will take care of that for you!
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!
