I would go for the 44's they are easy to sell later if you turbo it.

you'll probably have to drop the venturi size down and rejet them to make them work well on the 1776.

If you have too much venturi, you typically loose your bottom end power. They can be made to work on the 1776, but don't expect them to run well out of the box.

I have run them on a 1835 right out of the box and had good luck with them the 110 cam has good bottom end and will work well with the 44's

I have a question......

Explain top end and bottom end. I hear it all the time. I know what it means in relation to human anatomy, but that's about as far as I know.

Btw. I have a 1776 with a 110 cam. And I run dual Kadrons.

good info in here:

http://www.carburetorclinic.com/choosing_your_idfs.htm

You can run the 44's on the 1776, but may have to do some vent/jetting changes to get them to work well. Really depends on the rest of your engine set up. You said your running a 110 cam.. how about heads? Ported? Valve Size? If you have too big of a venturi for your engine, its going to slow the air speed down in the carb and make tuning difficult, and make the bottom end (or low rpm range) feel kinda soggy. Just the opposite, you can have too small of a venturi and have a great crisp and responsive throttle, but be limited on the total RPMs you can turn due to flow limitations.

In all honesty, I would go for the 44's, but I would also factor in the cost of changing the vents down to something sized well your your head/valve size. Vents are only $8 each from CB performance for the 44's. Not a ton of money, but those and jet changes when tuning will add up (plus you have to multiply all your parts costs by four). The advantage of the 44's is resale, and the ability to tune them up or down for a wide range of engine combos.

I don't doubt that you did, but I bet (depending on your engine combo) they could have been optimized to perform better. Its been my experience that if you settle with "out of box" jetting and vent sizing, it may run ok, but you are making compromises.

FWIW.. I just bought a new set of 44 IDFs that I will be running on a 2332. My heads are CB 044's that have been ported and have 42x37.5 valves. I will be switching the venturis from the stock 36's that come with the 44's up to 38's.

Its just like it sounds, but in reference to your rpm range.

Low end or bottom end is what you feel as your just taking off from idle, and as you roll into the throttle from lower engine speeds. Top end is just the opposite, its the power at high RPMs.
