If you can, bench bleed the master cylinder. If not you may be OK, mine was (without bleeding it).
If you have drum brakes, and before bleeding, adjust them until they're tight against the drums , then back off a few clicks. Bleeding is a 2 person operation. Starting at the right rear (farthest from the MC( have the wifey pump the brake pedal then hold it down while you open the bleed screw, tighten and repeat ( pumping and opening bleeder) until you have no air bubbles. Then move to the left rear and repeat the process, then right front, then left front. Throughout this process it's VERY important to check the brake fluid level in the resevoir to make sure it doesn't get too low. It's a good idea to go around the car twice when doing this, always starting right rear.
