Long or short torsions?

Postby BountyHunter » 09 Tue Jan, 2007 12:21 am

I am in the process of combining two buggies into one. One pan has long and the other has short torsions on them. Are there any advantages to either length? If it is just personal preference what is the consensus?

Thanks for any info.

They both are the same as far as fuction goes...if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
If you have the components for both, then just use the ones you have!
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!

The long torsion bars may conflict with large tires on the rear. A 31 10.50 15 is probably the largest tire you can get without rubbing (and even that may be too big with some manufacturers).

That's exactly right. I changed out the long ones for the short and now my 32 x 10.50 x 15 fit just fine.
