How do you identify between type 1,2, and 3

I've got a '66 with a shortened pan. When looking up parts I see that a '66 falls into all type categories. What's the difference?...and should it matter since it's a fiberglass buggy? Also, is there a source for pre-shortened cables etc. to take into account the shortened pan? Thanks.

There is no source for preshortened cables, due to the difference of different types of sproceedures used in the shortening proccess. The only knowledge you need to know about the 66 is, whether or not it is a type 1 or Ghia model, with the difference eing the shapeof thepan sections. The type 2 is the bus models, and the type three will have a completely different front beam attached to it!
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!
