Replace the Ebrake handle mount.....

Postby admin » 26 Sat Jul, 2008 9:48 am

Good Morning,

I recently purchased a Manx-type dune buggy based on a '67. The former owner removed (cut out) the plate housing and handle for the emergency brake on the floorboard and left the two emergency brake cables sticking through the opening. I'm assuming the replacement plate housing would have to be welded in place. Can you steer me in the right direction to find the replacement parts? Recommend a tech manual (or technical source) to help me through the dilemma. Thanks, I sure appreciate it.

I had the exact same problem with my buggy. I bought a braket and handle that had been cut out of a donor from Henry at Bugoholics (http://bugoholics.com/), you should give him a call or e-mail. Yes it had to be welded in, I had a friend do it with a small wire feed welder and it only took maybe 10 minutes. If you can't find a donor you can get a bracket intended for a sandrail from Berrian (http://www.berrienbuggy.com/id79.htm).
