brake issue

Postby admin » 19 Sun Aug, 2007 9:06 am

posting this for Doc Nugent, who contacted the club via email:

"A friend has a '72 bug that he's put disc brakes on the front of, and now he consistently locks up the fronts. I've tried to sell him on the idea of putting a proportioning valve in the front circuit, but he's wondering if he can just swap the front and rear lines where they connect to the master cylinder - to put the greater pressure of the fronts into the rear and vice versa. Ever heard of such a mod? Think it might work?"

anyone?

I have disc all the way around and I switched the lines and it works great stops on a dime and I have 135's on the front and don't lock them up.

In the old days we just swaped the brake cylinders front to back .... it was easy and quick to do .
