General Brakes Question

Postby CoryN » 27 Sun Apr, 2008 12:51 pm

I am going to replace my entire brake system with new. I'm going to stay with stock for now.

The pan dates to '63 based on the vin #. I don't know if the front is original to the pan, its a king/link pin front.

The rear I know is not original to the pan, I took it off a '59 pan, I don't know that it was original to that pan either. Its a swing axle.

So looking at full kits. They make a '58-'64 kit, a '65-'66 kit, and a '67 kit. Whats the difference, and how do I know what I have and whether it will work? I'd like the '67 kit as it has a dual cylinder master as opposed to the single.

??

You need to go off the year of the backing plates and drums. if your going with a complete kit from socal auto parts just order the kits for the year with the correct backing plates and drum width and ask to upgrade to a dual cylinder. I think it is $10-$15 more. Just call to order and ask them to do it.
