Subaru EZ30R

Anybody have any experience with this newer Subaru motor? I know I'm going to go Subaru in the Manxter I'm building, just not sure what Subaru. I saw a lot of info on this motor in NASIOC and it got me curious. 6 cylinder, horizontally opposed, 3.0L, variable valve timing and lift, ~250HP in the stock N/A configuration. The kicker: It's only about 1" longer and 75lbs. heavier than a EJ25. There is no substitute for displacment.
Is it normal to have absorbed more voltage than most household appliances?

My thoughts on it and past experienc doing a few engine conversions. If you are going to have to purchase a wiring harness and brain for either one and there is no large price difference in these parts or the engines themselves, yes go for bigger displacement and get the twin turbo version, easily upgradable HP.

Is there a twin turbo version of the EZ30R? As far as I know they only come N/A stock. There are several Subaru tuner companies that have added turbos. They seem to think that the stock internals are good up ~450HP.

Mendeola Motors has been installing the flat 6 engine in Manxters for a couple of years. http://www.mendeolamotors.com/ I think the EJ25 with a single turbo is all the power you would ever need. I can say this after driving Kathleen's car several times since completion. Tom

I'd have to second that. I've been following the progress on the AU Manx Gallery for a little while now. That is one sharp looking Manxter.
