Ok i bought this car for 500 bucks first one. Trying to figure out what it is exactly. I believe it aint a manx. So is it a cheap knock off. Secondly im looking for someone to tell me how to get the hood off so i can get access to the fuel tank to drain it. And clean it. Its full of gas from 10 years ago.
Thirdly im wondering... is having problems with the way the seats are in the car. Wondering if someone has a good type of seat that they reommend to put in. As well as the proper bracketing that they would recommend. Looking for something that aint to expensive. And as well im thinking that the roll bar is too far or close to the front. Has anyone ever moved theres or any suggestions

Car is a 1970 it has a vw pan underneath.
Thanks
RW

There should be about two bolts under each front fender and probably one on each side under the dash. Take those out and the hood should come off. There might also be an attachment from the bottom of the hood to the middle of the front beam.
Just a suggestion, spring for the price of a new after-market gas tank. I'd suggest going that route rather than cleaning an old tank. Starting with a new tank can sure eliminate potential problems down the road.

RW, I have a simular problem, my gas tank leaks from the fuel level sending unit. But my problem is someone molded my hood in with fiber glass  Now I have to cut a hole in my hood, or butcher the hood to remove it and hope i find a proper replacement :?
Anyway welcome to club :D
It's EASY.... if you know how.

nice find :D

I never seen one like that so im not sure of the make
I seen similar one come out of the UK and brazil that are a bit boxer
than there US counterparts

just because its not a manx doesent mean its cheap.

there should be some bolts under the fenders to remove the hood
most of the time you have to remove the windshield and dash to get it off
its a bit of a job

post picks in the project section and we can help you thru the process
