My question pertains to the indicator light that excites the alternator. (It doesn't excite me that much.) Does the light have to be installed in the circuit that goes to the alternator or can it be anywhere as a draw on the 12v system? My guess is that it is installed in the wire to the alternator.
Someone give me an answer please.

I agree 100%. I use the turn signal lamp in my speedometer. Comes on when main power key is on and off when alternator begins charging. The lamp is then available for turn signal use.
