Solid trans mount

My chassis came with a solid cradle mount. Most of these kits I've seen on line have a strap included. Mine didn't have it. Is the strap an integral part of the solid mount?

The strap is really for use with stock motor mounts, but I can see using it with solid mounts to prevent cracking the bell housing when the weight of the engine is negative,i.e. going up away from the ground. Or if you have a high torque engine that really twists on one side. Just a thought.

Sorry to hijack, but thought I may get some answers here before I order parts. Do the solid mounts cause much vibration? What type mount would be best for a street car? Stock? Poly? Solid? Straps or No Straps? I would think maybe the Stock with the straps would be the smoothest & not likely to break mounts.

Mine are stock with straps. You're going to have vibration no matter what you do, but yes, it's probably smoother with stock mounts. My guess anyway, I have never had solid mounts. They tried to sell me solid mounts at the Buggy Warehouse, but I too was afraid of vibration so I opted out.

Thanks, Jack for helping with my questions. Jim, I've got new poly bell housing mounts you are welcome to if you want them. A buddy at work says he has a solid front mount for me( I only have the solid cradle mount). If he brings it you can have the poly front mount also.

I have run all three types
stock rubber good no problems. make sure you get NOS
cheap urithane broke and came appart. pshaw dont buy
solid not to bad, but you can hear everthing in the gearshift area.
mine has a whine in third but I kinda like it.

I guess there are two kinds of the mount up by the input shaft. Early and late? My new mount is too big for the location on the pan. I'll give Karparts a call today to see what they have.
