What would you consider your top upgrades

Postby Ken » 30 Fri Jul, 2010 9:20 am

A few days ago I pull up to the fuel pump and decided to treat the rail to some premium 92 octane, I have always used regular grade. It took a few miles, but once the carburetor started getting the high octane fuel I had a whole new range of peddle.

One thing I love about driving the rail into the office is the lack of radio. I find myself solving all kinds of world problems with the ideal mind time. This morning I was thinking about all the little and big upgrades I have made to the rail and was wondering how it compares to you smart people and what you might consider your top list. Not in any particular order. I'll think about that on the drive home this afternoon.

Premium/high octane fuel
2-bbl progressive carburetor
Alternator conversion
Front disk brakes
Electronic Ignition
Safety laminate glass windshield

So whats your short (or long list) of performance, convenience or bling-bling upgrades ?

I loved my Flaming River tilt column.

Also, my diamondplate floor...it gave me more legroom and my head was actually below the windshield!

front discs.
elec. ignition
Trimil exhaust
front beam adjusters
adjustable rear spring plates
my citylight front turnsignal bulbs that sit inside of my headlamp lense with a H4 bulb above them
push button start (all the modern high line cars have it)

I could go on and on about custom things on my buggy, cause its almost all custom. but those are some of my favorite.
as far as power goes. who needs it. you gotta be going slow enough that people can look at it as you drive by. after all thats what a buggy is all about!
