Does a Steering Damper loose its effectiveness over time?

Are you having some sort of steering issues Bill? The only time I ever had an issues is when I was flat towing my buggy behind my truck with a worn out dampner it would tend to jerk the steering wheel back and forth after making a slow sharp turn. I know you have a trailer you haul yours in though.

No, not having a steering issue. Just wanted to be sure the damper was doing what it was supposed to do in stabilizing the front end.
