What is the round thingy on the carb called that holds the cable in place? Is it available by itself? I see that I can buy an E-brake shortening kit, but what about the throttle? I just got a new master cylinder today and it's different than the one I pulled off. The new one has an outlet on the very front, then three more at 90, 45, and 135 degrees. Any idea of what hole goes where? Does the main line (brake line) to the rear run on the port side of the "tunnel"? Thanks. I'm not new to working on stuff,...just VW's.

The round thingy is called a barrel nut, yes they are to be had. The front port is for the brake light switch, one is for the rear brakes, one is for the left front and the last is for the right front. I hope this helps!

Thanks, I found the shortening kits on the internet last night as well as the barrel nut, but the master c was still in question. Thanks.

The hole facing the front of the car....brake light switch
The one pointed to the driver's side wheel....left front wheel
The one pointed to the passenger wheel......right front wheel
The one on the top.......rear brakes.
I hope this helps.
If at first you don't succeed, beat the pshaw out of the business partner, and then go at it alone! LOL!
