ACCOMMODATIONS

Postby Bill K » 31 Sat May, 2014 4:05 pm

Now that a very successful Buggy Blast is a great memory, I'd like to get things kicked off for the Buggy Roundup. There will be more information to come, but for now I want to get started with information about accommodations.

So, here we go:
Hampton Inn - Boerne: We have a block of 17 rooms reserved for the Roundup. Our rate will be $119. Just tell them you are with the Buggy Roundup when booking your room to get the special rate. PLEASE NOTE: Any rooms not reserved by JULY 20th will come off our block and no longer be available at our rate. If you have any problems booking your room please let me know. Their phone number is: 830-816-8800.

Alamo Fiesta RV Resort: I know we have folks who enjoy camping when coming to an event. So, here is a nice and conveniently located RV Park in Boerne.

We're booked! Great rate Bill. Thank you for the time to work this out.
We really enjoyed this hotel last year and look forward to visiting it again.

And thanks Brian for guaranteeing the weather will be perfect. :P

Why anyone would think spending a weekend driving around in 100*+ weather, throwing candies to spoiled rotten kids, all the while interacting with buggy folks who have nothing on their mind except to have a good time and tell tall tales is beyond me. Any of you new folks outs there contemplating whether you should put this on your calendar might as well stay home and enjoy the air conditioning while the rest of us losers act like 10 year olds playing in the sandbox.
Oh by the way I wouldn't miss this event for nothing. See you all there
This may be a quick one for me as I'll be looking for a job the following week.

I've checked with the Hampton in Boerne and we have 4 rooms left in the block I reserved. I thought I had 17 blocked but it turns out it was 14 with 10 taken so far.

I've gotten us an extension on the deadline for booking any of the remaining 4 rooms at our rate ($119). We now have until August 20th, and after that I will loose whatever rooms are not reserved. But, just to be safe I would suggest not waiting as late as August 20th to book your room.

If you are staying at the Alamo Fiesta RV park, be sure to tell them you are with the Dune Buggy Club either when you make the reservations or when you arrive. They are holding 5-6 ajoining spaces for us. I hope August goes fast. I am so ready to get away for a few days..........
