New Location

Postby Bill K » 13 Sat Jun, 2015 11:25 am

THE ROUNDUP IS MOVING: After 8 years of doing the Roundup in Boerne, for Roundup IX we will be moving to Schulenburg, Texas.

I don't have all the details worked but do have some early information.

ACCOMODATIONS: Holiday Inn Express 979-307-5555 We have a block of 12 Double Queen rooms blocked out for the Roundup. The rate will be $129 and they are comping me the conference room for the Meet & Greet. When you book you may be able to get a Single King room. They also have a designated trailer parking area which will be helpful. When booking tell them you are with the Dune Buggy group. Also, after August 18th I will loose any of the 12 rooms not booked.

Best Western 979-743-2030 The Best Western is very close to the Holiday Inn. Linda and I checked it out also and thought the Holiday Inn to be much nicer accommodations. But, they offered me a rate of $99 but would not give me a block of rooms. They too have trailer parking.

Schulenburg RV Park 979-743-4388. This is a small, but very nice RV Park and is very close to the hotels run by some very nice people. But, all I could get was a block of 5 sites.

Colorado Landing RV Park 979-702-9059 This is a very nice and large RV Park located in La Grange, Texas. I couldn't get a block of sites reserved, but as of last weekend they had 14 sites available for Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, none of the available sites are pull-throughs. They did suggest calling early because on holiday weekends they do fill up. La Grange is about 15 miles from Schulenburg.

REGISTRATION: I liked what Ken did with registrations for the Blast and with his help will use registrations for the Roundup this year.
Registration is now OPEN. Follow this link to the REGISTRATION THREAD.

SCHEDULE: Due to a new location there will be some schedule changes and more will be coming on that later.

GOAL: The goal for the Roundup will not be changed. It is to have an event providing everyone the best time possible.

Obviously, there are more details to come, but I wanted to get the ball rolling, and if you have any questions please give me a call at: 281-238-0577.

Everyone knows you are automatically "subscribed" to a thread by posting a reply, but did you know you can "subscribe" to an entire forum?
Try it out with the Round Up Forum....

Select the Buggy Round Up IX link at the top of this page....
Then look for the "Subscribe Forum" link at the bottom of that page and click it.
You will now be email notified by the forum anytime a NEW thread is posted.
You can "Unsubscribe Form" at any time from the same link.

I will surely miss doing the parade thing as it was a highlite for sure. It kind of made the weekend complete.
Schulenburg should be a blast  Great scenery and closer to home for me.
See you there

Bill...
I'm sure it wasn't an easy discussion for you to change the Round Up location.
I personally look forward to visiting a new place and we will always have good memories of the years in Boerne.

We appreciate all the time and work you put into the Round Up every year.
If there is anything any of us can do to help out, just let us know.
Thanks for all this information and we can't wait to see everyone in Schulenburg.

We could cruise over to the inlaws ranch for a brew and back. They are close to a little town called Westhoff.

Anne and I took a road trip over to Schulenburg to look at the RV park and look around
and we really liked the place lots of back roads and small towns to see.
The Church in High Hill is perfect wait till you see it.
This is going to be great.

Huh, I've never been to Schulenburg. Looks like a great little town from what I can see on Google.

We would like to seriously consider going, but we have already committed to the Wallis Fine Rides Autofest the first weekend in October. Still may go, but, since we are the new kids on the block, how do we go about registering?

Ken is helping me with setting up a registration form. It should be up soon, so please stand by. And, I can assure you, there is nothing that is more welcomed at the Roundup than a "New Kid on the Block"

I am so excited about the new location. I think it will be a great area to explore. Only 2 weeks until the Roundup. I sure wish it would hurry. I can't wait to see everyone.

Buggy has a new heart and is actually moving under power now. A few runs to work in the next two weeks and I'll be ready to roll. 8-)
