As I have said, we offered the Manx Club 3 Dates to choose from. We offered up April 12th - 14th, 2019, May 10th - 12th, 2019, and June 7th - 9th, 2019. After careful consideration from the Manx Club Board. The Board asked that we host the event on May 17th - 19th, 2019 in order to work with the schedule of the Manx Club Events as well as Bruce & Winnie Meyers Schedule. A few very important things needed to be considered when it was decided that we would move forward with the Date the Manx Club asked us to work with. 1. It was Bruce & Winnie Meyers that asked that an event is organized in our beautiful state. 2. It will be the Manx Club & funds raised by the event itself that will cover the costs of Bruce & Winnie Meyers Travel. 3. The Board of Directors were doing all they could to make sure that there is as high a attendance for all Official/Unofficial Manx Club Events. That is why they asked us to work with the date we were given. 4. The invitation to attend FRED in Texas has gone out internationally & we have the Host Hotel lined up. As Bruce says... Dune Buggies are about building friendships with like-minded people, in our individualized "Bitchen Cars"!

A Quote from GregR:
5) NO ONE on this board is NOT EXTREMELY appreciative of ALL that you, Faron and the National Manx Club have done for buggies in Texas.
AWESOME, Thank you for saying so, its much appreciated!
A quote from GregR:
7) Texas Manx Club, Save the Texas Dune Buggy and Texas Dune Buggy Owners are NOT and never have been private groups (well, Save the Texas Dune Buggy was for a time, but that was for a good reason.) No dues or board of directors has ever been in place, at least not with TMC. Many of us are members of all three.
This is not a competition so why don't we act like it's not a competition. You are correct GregR this is not is not & should not be a competition, I totally agree with you. Well all Texans want to show off just how beautiful Texas is right! So it is, but I would like to think it's not a competition between fellow Texans! LOL

Let's move on. Where and how can TMC and/or those planning to attend FRED help? TMCs forte has become cruises. I would hope that would count for something. If not then so be it. FRED sounds like it's intended as an event for all Manx Club members. Why can't it be organized by all Manx Club members? The National Manx Club members do an awesome job with gatherings like Lone Pine (I've been twice, also was a Charter member of Manx Club's Board of Directors) and other events.
LETS MOVE ON! What an AWESOME idea, and I am all for it!!! But I want to point out something to EVERYONE who is reading this. From the beginning, I have stood firm on staying with May 17th - 19th, 2019 due to The Manx Club as well as Bruce & Winnies Schedule. But never once have I said that I wouldn't except an offer of a helping hand. It's rare that I don't pick up the phone on an incoming call & I always return missed phone calls. (505)688-7640. My email is
Faronsmith70@gmail.com. Please feel free to get in touch and we will see what we can work out. The ONLY stipulation that Scott and I ask, PLEASE be prepared to move forward in a positive direction as that is the only way we will have a successful event/events. Also, I can't speak for Scott, but if you think of anything I can do to help with the Buggy Blast or the TMC in General. Please do not hesitate to ask.
