BoB in Texas 2021

Postby ScottR » 04 Thu Feb, 2021 5:49 pm

(Brenham or Bust) BoB in Texas is an official Manx Club Event, that will be held in the beautiful Texas Hill Country around Brenham, Texas. The event will be held during the week of May 11th, 2021, through May 13th, 2021. Late Spring in the Hill Country is beautiful and colorful, to put it mildly.
Brenham is south of College Station, and about halfway between Houston and Austin approximately 70 miles northwest of Houston, and about 90 miles east of Austin.
It was on March 2, 1836, that a delegation of 59 men gathered at Washington on the Brazos to draft a Declaration of Independence and establish a constitution for a new nation. They declared Texas a “free, sovereign and independent republic.” Washington County, the “Birthplace of Texas,” is etched in the history books forever. (More of this to come)!!!
We have a host hotel all lined up, and it is wonderful. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2685 Schulte Blvd., Brenham, Texas, 77833. We have asked that The Holiday Inn Express & Suites set aside 30 rooms for us, but you had better move quick as they only agreed to hold them for us until April 10th, 2021. (After that any rooms that have not been reserved will be released and sold to the public.
To reserve your room give them a call at 979-830-5331, the rooms are reserved under Dune Buggy Club, Manx Club, with the code DBC.
Blocked Room Rates for Weekdays are $119.00 per night Plus Tax

The RV situation...

There are 20 RV spots. there are 5 with full hook-ups, and 15 or so with partial hook-ups.
There is a dump station on site.
There is a large bathroom on site.
There are 30 AMP connections.

Its not fancy but it is all together and close by.

Still waiting on more info as the contact is also distributing the COVID-19 Vaccines right now and is kind of busy.

Question about Bob. Say someone more local wanted to attend for a day? Is there another registration process other than being a Manx Club member?

Ken, to answer your question, yes. You need to register on the website and be a Manx Club Member to participate. It has to do with the club's insurance. But we can't stop folks for following us on public roads.
