Gillespie County Schools

I would like to propose a trip for April 5-6,2014. Gillespie county (Fredricksberg) has many old one room school houses that will be open on the above weekend. They will be manned by docents to explain the history of each school. The main reason though that I suggest this is that in order to get to all these schools you must drive on roads that are normally not open to the public as they are across many of the local ranches. The roads are barely one and one-half lanes and through some very beautiful areas. This is also the best time of year to see the bluebonnets, indian paintbrush and indian blankets in bloom. My wife and I went up there a couple years ago and it was fun to visit the schools and great to ride the back country getting to them. I feel that this would be a great trip to make in buggies.

So I tell you what I am going to do. Sometime in Feb. I will do some checking on what hotels are available in the area and post it and youall can decide what you want to do.
