Big Bear Cali

Postby BrianB » 20 Mon Jan, 2014 9:05 pm

Any died in the wool Manx fans heading to California for the '50th Anniversary of the Manx Buggy' get together at Big Bear Park? It is the weekend after July 4th. I am already booked for three major trips this year so I wont have any time off to go. Too bad. They are expecting over 200 buggies. Lots of trail cruises for the offroad folks and a cruise for the street guys(gals) as well. If there is no snow in Colorado in March or the cruise ship to Alaska sinks before we get on in June I might could make the trip to Cali.

If any of you can make this trip, I heartily recommend it. I have been to 2 of the Manx Club's events in Lone Pine CA and had a super time both trips. If you don't have a buggy, no problem, there are usually a few extra seats. Only caveat is due to insurance reasons, you need to be a member of the Manx Club (you can join at the event.)
Here's a link to the Manx CLub forum and some more info. http://manxclub.yuku.com/topic/1113/Big-Bear-Bash-2014#.UuQ2DKV6hGF
One of these years I'll be heading to Big Bear.

This would be THE ONE to go to. I suspect it will be the biggest of them all.

Big Bear in Lone Pine California.....
What fond memories. I attended with Greg a couple years back. We flew into Vegas, rented a car and drove to Lone Pine. It was the trip of a lifetime. We found a couple of vacant seats in a Buggy and spent two days cruising in the high desert of Death Valley. Everything off road. Really great group of folks.
I highly recommend this trip.

Hey Rick.
How's it going. Are you still adding to the harem or have you let some of the girls get away?

So, there is a raffle for a buggy? Do you have to be a Manx Club member? How much are the tickets. Do you have to be in attendance?

Bruce's Subaru powered Kickout S/S that he was going to drive to NC last fall.
Yes, you have to be a Manx Club (NOT Texas Manx Club) member.

Hi David

Sorry I didn't response to your post sooner. I missed it until right know. I have added some buggies to the collection. I just can't help myself. Though on the positive side I have also sold some. I have made some improvements to my building, but have a long way to go. Are you going to buy another buggy? I hope you are doing well. Rick
