2023 Blast Update

Hello Buggy Friends!

I wanted to give everyone an update on this year’s Blast. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the last 4 months looking for a new venue for us using the following criteria:

1. A nice hotel in a new location that we have never been to before.
2. Parking at the hotel that will accommodate all of our trailers easily.
3. Affordable.

I found a (small) handful that met the first 2 criteria, and none that met the 3rd. In fact, I didn’t get a single quote in several different towns, including Fredericksburg, that were under $200 per night for the group. So I decided to take several days off of work and start driving around. Well it paid off.

I found a Holiday Inn Express in South San Marcos that has great parking and with meeting with the Sales Director she is giving our group a price of $139 per night plus tax. I have learned through this experience that hotels are seeing high occupancies that they haven’t seen since before Covid, if ever. I will start planning cruises and excursions now, but at least wanted y’all to know that I’ve found a location and I think it will be really fun. I’ll post details of accommodations for rooms and RV this weekend, so please plan on booking as soon as possible as everyone is expecting huge travel crowds over Memorial Day weekend.
