I guess that he is going by the ole...... Start high and see if you can get it? Is it me or is $18500.00 to much for this buggy?

Maybe he type-o an extra zero and means $1850... yea, probably not, but I'm with you $18500 is just way wrong.

Could be a typo, I can see him asking 8500 for it. Thats more reasonable. Or hes just really proud of his work. Or he really doesnt want sell it.

That is awfully pricey in my opinion as well. Primarily for these reasons:

1. Stock SP motor....you usually see much better motors on high end buggies
2. Cheap seats...for $18k I would not expect to see those cheap poly seats in front and a poor fitting seat in the back.
3. Original VW gas guage...Come on. For $18k you need some nice gauges
4. No full cage...again, for that price you need a full cage
5. Boring wheels
6. No real horn. OK, thats a pet peeve, but for $18 large a real horn isn't unreasonable.
7. Claims "high quality" paint job...look at the fender in his link. Lots of peel. Here is my "garage quality" painted fender:

I sold my real Manx for less than 1/2 that amount.
