I am needing to fabricate new floors for my Manx buggy project and wanted to get some suggestions and ideas.

I was thinking of getting some type/thickness of metal and just cutting it to size and welding it in place. I am not sure how this will work or how to exactly do it or what to exactly use. Just have some ideas. I am not sure if it will look good or be noisy or any other bad consequences if this method.

I am open to any other ideas, and I think there has got to be some better ideas out there than mine somewhere. Please share your thoughts.

See photo below for what've am working with. It is a shortened chassis that already has some supports across the bottom from side to side.

Thanks for your help!

If you were going to use steel diamond plate would you use 1/8, 3/16, or 1/4"?

You are on the right track. I shortened my pans and won't ever do that again.
