Center mirror

Postby CoryN » 30 Wed Sep, 2009 5:52 pm

So I got the standard issue billet mirror for the windsheild but I can't get the angle I need. I'm thinking of grinding a bevel on the mount to get enough angle. Anyone else had this problem?

If I adjust the mirror as high as it will go all I get is a good view of the rear seat. It needs to go higher. I think if I grind off the part that glues onto the windsheild at a forty-five I can get enough angle

As most buggies have the same angle on the windsheild it might be a common problem

Can you flip it over or rotate the mirror 180 degrees?

I had the same probem. I think the mount holding the mirror ball is pewter. I just carefully broke out enough of the top of the mount to allow the angle I needed.

That's what I thought. Looks like pot metal. I figured a few passes on the belt sander will get me there

I used one of those on my first buggy, had the same problem I hit a couple times with a file, problem solved.

Just an FYI for the next guy buying a rear view go with B & K they cost a little more but well worth extra coin.

I know I plan to get my side mirrors from them. Ijust piggybacked the mirror with another parts order. And I put all my tickets in the drawing for the one at buggy blast but didn't win :(

So are most of you using the mount that clips over the frame or are you using the glue on :?:

I don't think I have seen anyone with clip on centers. Obviously the side mirrors are

I wonder if you could see anything from it if it was mounted on the dash?

Probably not, wouldn't hurt to try it though.

I guess it would depend on the rake of the buggy. I'll look at that when I get home today.
