Anyone Local (N. Ft Worth, Keller Area) Need Carb Help!!

Postby jtc442 » 26 Mon Apr, 2010 5:48 pm

Just wondering if there were any fellow members that might be local or close to me. I hate to say it, but I need help adjusting my carb. Ive followed the write ups on how to adjust, but I just cant get it. It is a 34 Pict. I ended up going and buying a 30Pict, and it runs perfect with it on there, but I can sure tell the power difference with the acceleration from the 30 to the 34. But I keep fouling plugs with my 34?? It is a brand new carb though. Would love to use it if i could get it adjusted right. if not, i need to sell it. Please help if you can!!

I tried a 34 on my stock 1600 DP and finally gave up on it. I just could never make it run right. While I've had some cold weather issues with my H30-31 it seems to privide plenty of power and runs well with the 009 distributor.

i think we spoke before. i like the 30 i put on it. its just the straight 30, not the 30/31 though. it works great!! idles perfect and doesnt foul my plugs. my problem is, i have to rev it really high in first gear to be able to really do any accelerating at all in second. if i try to drive it normal with the 30 on it, and then shift to second gear, i have to very slowly give it gas or it will just hesitate really bad. with the 34 on it, even though it was constantly running really rich, it didnt matter how fast i was going when i shifted into second, it had a ton of power. so, i was just hoping, crossing my fingers, to find someone who might be local that i could pay to maybe try and come adjust this 34 for me so i can run it. if not, oh well, ill continue using the 30 for now.

Go on Aircoolers.org There are lots of folks up there around Fort Worth. Many of them would have no problem helping you with both the carb and the front end issue. The Aircoolers site is a lot busier with all types of V-Dub people. Tell them BrianB sent ya ;-)
