Roll Bar Painting

Postby bobby hinman » 17 Thu Sep, 2009 2:22 pm

I want to paint the rollbar. metal bumupers and windshield black. Any suggestions on type of paint. I read a blog that Hammerrite paint was a good paint. I would like powdercoat but seems a bit too expensive. Any Suggestions?

I did powdercoat-rollcage/ front bumper and rear all for $150.00 locally-they do a nice job used them to doi the chassis on my 28 ford $250.00 and my 32 ford for $275.oo including the rearend housing and hood mounts-its cheaper than you think-if your local i use crosslink in Mckinney Texas and had good results-quality powder coat is good too but alittle more exspensive

Have you had crosslink do wheels?

I was thinking of having them powdercoat my Cragars. They quoted me $50 a wheel if I recall.

Definitly powder coat them. It will be alot more durable than painting. Also there are so many colors now days, from metallics, candys, and hammer tones. I had my roll cage, front bumper and a list of stuff all candy purple on a chrome base and it was less that $200.

3 choices for paint
for a show finish use lacquer
everday use might consider wrinkel finish easy touch ups
hard off road consider bed liner paint

all easily done in your garage with a small investment under say $100
if it aint broke, break it then fix it
